Having a great sunny day here. Just a reminder for all that we are actively seeing cases of heartworm disease, yes- even in the desert! You may not be seeing the mosquitos that transmit this disease, but they may be seeing your dogs. We have diagnosed two cases here in the past few weeks. Without routine prevention for this, dogs can suffer heart and lung damage, and you as owners may be faced with costly treatments. Discuss testing and prevention with your Vet.
